Best® Gloves for Heat Protection

* Please note: Knitted gloves are not appropriate for applications where hot liquids are being used. The type of heat protection these gloves are designed is contact. The glove material was exposed to temperatures of 250, 350 and 500 degrees F. The temperature of the inside of the glove was measured. For glove styles that are coated in the palm area, the temperature testing was performed only in the coated areas of gloves.

Explanation of Temperature Ratings
The temperature ratings were determined by measuring the amount of time in seconds for the temperature inside the glove material to rise 10º F from the starting temperature. The temperature on the outside of the glove was 250º, 350º and 500º F. For every 15 seconds of time it took for the temperature to rise, the glove scores one thermometer pictogram. 0 thermometers with red "don't use" icon: The gloves offer little or no insulation against the temperature.

• = > 15 seconds to rise 10º degrees inside the glove at that outside temperature.
•• = > 30 seconds to rise 10º degrees inside the glove at that outside temperature.
••• = > 45 seconds to rise 10º degrees inside the glove at that outside temperature.
